WE ARE GOING TO THE YOUTH JUDGING CLINIC IN SPRINGFIELD, JOIN US!!

February 29, March 1,2,3 2008. Illinois Horse Fest, & Judging Clinic.  We will leave on Friday at 5:00 from Barrington.  Judging clinic on Saturday.  Nice fun dinner on Saturday night.  Shopping Sunday, leaving Springfield around noon.  We will have teams from ages 8-13 and 13-18.  Email Lisa McCauley to confirm that you are going.  Chaperones wanted too!!  Do your show season shopping early.  To make reservations call Northfield Inn & Suites, in Springfield, 217-523-7900.  Tell them you are with the Illinois Horse Fest.  Rooms are limited and going fast. 

The cost to participate in the judging clinic is $15.  I need your name and registration no later than Jan. 15th.  We have lots of kids going so we'll have several teams.

THIS IS THE SCOOP ON THE JUDING TRIAL

Open to all youth (non-collegiate) horse judging teams, the event is expected to draw more than 200 participants representing 4-H, FFA and breed association teams from around the Midwest.

While the majority of participants in the contest are expected to come from the ranks of 4-H and FFA, in Illinois alone there are judging teams from Quarter Horse, Paint Horse, POA and other breed organizations.

A $15 per person entry fee for the contest also will allow participants one-day access to all of Horse Fair's Saturday offerings, including sessions with internationally known clinicians, seminars, all-breed expo and tradeshow.

Trophies and ribbons will be given to individuals and teams in two age divisions -- Juniors 8 to 13 and Seniors 14 to 18. Age is determined as of January 1 the year of the contest.

Deadline for entries is February 1, 2008. PtHA of IL Deadline for entry is January 15th (per Lisa)
