Meet our new Treasurer
Hi! My name is Shelby Parker and I'm your 2009 Youth Treasurer. I'm sixteen years old and a sophmore at Cary Grove High School. I own a bay tobiano hunt type mare named The One With Zip or Bindi as we like to call her. She is 6 and I have owned here for a year.
I've been riding for nine years. I started English at first because that is what my sister, Ashley, rode. I really didn't like it so I switch to western and having been riding at Timmermann's Ranch since then. I love everyone there because they are so nice and friendly and really make you feel like you are part of the family. I know that without Dale, Nell, Kristen, and Tammy, I wouldn't be where I was with Bindi. Bindi was horse show sour when we bought her and absolutely full of attitude. She was a hand full for a first horse but me and my sister worked her through her problems and as proven at the Spring '09 IL Pinto show we aren't as horse show sour anymore. Bindi still has lot of attitude sometimes but it has been fun. She is such a jealous horse too. She gets mad when i take care of my sister's horse, Wyatt. He is 4 yr old grey sabiano gelding and he is absolutely adorable. He serious is just a big baby (he is 16.3!). He also made is first show debut at the April show in Halter classes. Bindi and Wyatt are complete opposites but I think that is why I love them so much because what one has the other doesnt and vice versa. They are both really talented horses.
Besides my horse, I have two dogs, Fender (weimeraner) and Gwen(vizla-weimeraner). There both fun but are alittle to hyper to bring to horse shows. As mentioned before I have a sister named Ashley, 19, who has shown hunter jumper for most of her life and I also have a brother who is 14 named Preston who really doesnt ride. My mom and dad really support my riding goals and have definitely helped me avhieve all of them. They are greay at horse shows and really help me out. Bindi doesnt mind them either! She acts better for them when they ride her then she does for me!
I'm really excited to be your Youth Treasurer for '09 and I'm hoping everyone has an awesome show year and more importantly has fun while doing it.
My name is Shelby Parker and I'm brand new to the Pinto circuit this year. I'm going to be showing my pinto, The One With Zip, or "Bindi" as we call her.

YOUTH PRESIDENT

KATIE ZIMMER 2009 PtHA OF IL YOUTH PRESIDENT
Hey guys!! My name is Katie Zimmer and I have a 4 year old hunt type horse named O K Jack, but you can just call him Henry. He's my partner in crime, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been riding for 14 years, and was hooked the second they put me in the saddle. I started out doing hunter jumper on my little paint pony, Silky. I had so much fun spending hours and hours at the barn every day, that I dragged my mom out so much she got a horse for herself!
I am a junior at Barrington High School, and really don’t have any time for any other sports. My horse is my first priority. I hope to attend as many Pinto shows as I can this year, although I'll be showing more Paint this year.
When I go to the shows I always have at least 4 people there to cheer me on (along with the rest of my show team and my trainer) and to make sure I’m always ready for my next class - my Mom, Dad, little brother Aiden, and the boyfriend "Matthew". Yes there is a boyfriend!!!
I am your 2008 Youth Vice President. I will do my best to make this show season one for the record books!!! If you see me at one of the shows, please come up and say hello. I always enjoy meeting other youth from all over!!! Wishing every one a great 2008 show season!!
Youth Vice President

BETH PETROVIC 2009 PtHA OF ILLINOIS YOUTH Vice President
Hi! I’m Beth Petrovic and I am your 2009 Illinois Pinto Youth Vice President. I am fifteen years old and I am an eighth grader at Lake Zurich Middle School South. I have a horse named Western Dee Bar - otherwise known as “Skittles”.
I have loved horses since the day I was born, but it was not until I was four that I actually started riding. I began riding at Timmermann’s where I got my first horse April. She was a twelve year old Quarter Horse mare who taught me so much about riding and caring for horses. When I was eight we got out first Pinto, Skittles. He was my Mom’s birthday present, so I rarely got to ride him. He also injured his leg, so for the first four months we couldn’t ride him anyway. In 2004, we started attending the Illinois Pinto shows. I started out just showing Skittles in Western events, but I soon taught him English. We have stayed with Pinto ever since because of the family oriented atmosphere. Two years ago, we sold April and bought another Pinto named Kid Cuervo, but we just call him “Reeses”. He is a huge trouble maker, but it doesn’t matter because he is so cute! I have recently relocated to Chestnut Hill Farm. When I go to shows you can see me having a good time with my show team “The Five Star Fillies”. My favorite classes are Showmanship, Horsemanship, Trail, and all of the speed events. Outside of riding and showing horses I like to be involved in swimming and basketball. I also just like to hang out with some friends and catch a movie every now and then. This year as your Youth President I would like to keep the youth club involved in volunteer work, and also spend some time getting to know other youth clubs. I would also like to do at least one teambuilding activity during the year. We have a great group of youth this year, and I hope it will be a year that we will all remember. Being a part of the Pinto organization is an experience I will remember forever. All of the people are so nice and the group is well structured. I can’t wait to meet the new people that have joined the club for the 2008 show season!
Good Luck
Beth Petrovic
YOUTH SECRETARY

AMANDA BOHMANN 2009 PtHA OF ILLINOIS YOUTH
SECRETARY AND PRINCESS and YOUTH SECTOR DIRECTOR
Hey all! I am Amanda Bohmann and I am super proud to represent Illinois Pinto as your princess for 2008 and as the Youth Secretary. I have been riding horses since the age of two, and will continue to ride until death. Or maybe until I get old and cannot function properly! I own a horse, Ready Made Cash, or just “Cash” as we like to call him. I board him at Timmermann’s Ranch in Island Lake. I was pretty much born there I guess you can say. When I first got my horse, he was five years old and didn’t know much about shows, or anything at all except trail riding. My sister and my mom worked with him for a while, and then I soon started showing with him. He loved to take advantage of me and my sister when we were little. And now, he can barely get away with it! I also have a great trainer, also my cousin, Dale Timmermann. She has had to deal with me on her showteam since I was about seven or eight years old. But, if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have gotten my Pinto Legion of Merit last year! I thank her for all of her help. And I also want to thank her daughter, Tammy Timmermann because I started in her regular horse lessons before I was in Dale’s showteam.
Not only am I involved in horses, but I love to play sports as well. I have been in basketball for the school team since sixth grade. I love to run both on and off the court! I also like soccer and softball, but I don’t play on the school team for that.
For school, I attend Johnsburg Junior High School. I am in eighth grade currently. My favorite subject is math. In math, I am taking Pre-Algebra. We are getting into some pretty tough stuff so far for this class, but I catch on to it quickly.
One thing I want to change for the club is for everyone to have good sportsmanship. Of course everyone gets a little competitive at the shows, but we shouldn’t overdo it. Sometimes we get into a bundle and get into fights but we shouldn’t let that get to our friendship. We were most likely all friends at one point, and we should continue to be friends as long as possible. Nobody should favor anyone more than anyone else if they both taught you the same amount of stuff. Just give them both the credit.
Well, I hope you enjoyed that long boring description of me! Hope you didn’t fall asleep for too long!
