Kathryn wrote, " Roni, Lisa, Amanda and I all were on the same team tournament team at Worlds this year. We all see each other and hang out at the MSPB&O shows and other East Central shows.  Roni Jo Roth graduated from high school this year and she was valedictorian of her class. She was awarded the Pinto Heritage Foundation Scholarship. "

Lisa Laske from Michigan and Frosted Assets won 2nd overall in the Billie Cousins Memorial Versatility Showcase.   Fantastic riding!  Lisa was tied for first until the final barrel challenge.  Frosted Assets was all pleasure.  Great job Lisa.   Lisa graduated from high school this year also, and was in the top 15 percent of her class. She was awarded the Phil Sandusky Scholarship.

Amanda Bohman competed in the Versatility Class with Cash and did an awesome job.  Cash was a star at English, Western and Halter.  When it came to barrels, Amanda and Cash were off the charts fast!  Amanda we are proud of you for going in the Versatility Class.  Your grooms, Dale & your mom did a great job too!

Amanda and Devan going in to the Pavillion to hear the judges placings.  Devan got 9th overall in showmanship.  Way to go Devan!!

Gracie and Sioux setting up and ready for the judge during showmanship.  Grace and Sioux did a great job in the riding classes.  The competition was very tough in the showmanship classes.  If you don't nail the pivot, you are out of luck!!

Devan, Kathryn, Amanda and Grace participated in the Team Tournament and came in fourth overall among the youth.  Specific classes, an oral quiz, and a written quiz are all part of the scoring process.

Grace and Amanda waiting for the Bareback Equitation Class.  Amanda took 9th overall.  As Amanda was waiting at the first cone for the nod from the judges to proceed with her pattern a HUGE bolt of lighting rattled the pavillion.  Cash, being the great bomb proof horse that he is, looked up and then quickly put his head back down and completed the pattern beautifully!  Congratulations Amanda.

Although the 2007 World has come and gone the lessons and  wonderful memories will never be forgotten.   The tears,  excitement and surprise of winning a World Buckle,  although  captured on film, can not be relived again.  At World you  become family with your aisle acquaintances and you become  even closer to your trainer and  show team  friends.   You  find out what you are really made of staying up until  midnight working your horse and rising at five to get ready  for your class.  You and your horse speak a language only  the two of you understand.   At World you and your horse are  a team.  You ask and your horse responds giving you the  performance you have worked so hard for all year long.  As  the buckle sits and is displayed for all your family and  friends to see you close your eyes and remember  the rain  and wind , the lightning, the heat and the announcement  of “And the 2007 World Champion goes to ………”    Memories are  priceless.
